چکیده

This study aimed to compare the clinical value of carotid ultrasound and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) for artery stenosis in patients with cerebral infarction. Sixty infarction underwent DSA. Carotid stenosis, degree (mild, moderate, severe, occlusion), plaques were recorded compared. rate was 96.67 % (58/60) 91.67 (55/60) on DSA ultrasound, respectively, difference not statistically significant. Mild, severe occlusion diagnosed 35, 28, 20, 17 arteries, DSA, 39, 25, 10, 9 ultrasound. There a significant between two methods (p<0.05). The kappa detected by 0.776, indicating good consistency. Both are effective screening atherosclerotic plaques. While is faster more convenient, can accurately detect presence occlusion. Thus, our recommendation combination settings improve convenience accuracy diagnosis.

Comparison of magnetic resonance angiography, duplex ultrasound, and digital subtraction angiography in assessment of extracranial internal carotid artery stenosis.

The results of a prospective study comparing ultrasound, intra-arterial digital subtraction angiography, and magnetic resonance angiography in the assessment of the degree of extracranial internal carotid artery stenosis are reported in patients with symptoms of recent carotid territory ischaemia. A total of 70 patients and 137 vessels were examined by all three techniques. The results obtained...

Internal carotid artery stenosis measurement: comparison of 3D computed rotational angiography and conventional digital subtraction angiography.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Clinical trials have shown that carotid endarterectomy reduces stroke risk in symptomatic individuals with severe internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis. As a result of these trials, digital subtraction angiography (DSA) became a standard of reference for ICA stenosis diagnosis. Newer 3D techniques provide a larger number of views than DSA, which may influence the estimat...

Carotid artery thrombosis and cerebral infarction after multiple traumas

Carotid artery thrombosis and concomitant brain infarction after blunt trauma are rare conditions. We report a 34-year-old woman with multiple traumas due to pedestrian car accident. At the time of initial visiting, she was somnolent and her Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score was 14. Initial vital signs (V/S) and brain computed tomography (CT) scan were normal. One day after admission to the emerge...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The purpose of this work was to review and compare published data on the diagnostic value of duplex ultrasonography (DUS), MR angiography (MRA), and conventional digital subtraction angiography (DSA) for the diagnosis of carotid artery stenosis. METHODS We performed a systematic review of published studies retrieved through PUBMED, from bibliographies of review papers, ...
